2016 Time & Direction ‘Solaksen Vineyard’ Syrah – Gobs of dark fruits and smoke dominate the nose, giving this a seductive opening. There is a great combination of weight and acidity on the mid-palate as the wine reveals a nice combination of red and dark fruits with smoked pork shoulder undertones. The citrus rind towards the back end completes this fantastic new release. Drink 2018-2026- 92 – Washington Wine Blog
This is Steve Wells’ inaugural red wine. Produced from de-stemmed grapes, it shows a deep ruby-crimson color and an enticing, perfumed nose of blackberries, blueberries, black currants, red roses, sweet tobacco, lavender and incense. The flavors are supple and forward, yet focused, with layers of black and blue fruits that are intermixed with licorice, cocoa, black tea and Frenchman Hills minerals. The appeal continues on the back with sensations of pressed berries, roasted nuts, crème de cassis and charcoal, followed by a pleasing ripe tannin finish. As a vin de plaisir, this gets a plus. 18.5+/20 points. – Rand Sealy’s Review Of Washington Wines
