2017 Time & Direction ‘Fretboard’ White Wine – A blend of Roussanne and Viognier sourced from the Columbia Valley, this opens with a bouquet of lemongrass, Gravenstein apple and green papaya as the Roussanne seems to be particularly shining brightly on the nose. Bright, with lively acidity, this shows lighter tree fruit flavors with cantaloupe and kiwi mixed in. The citrus rind driven finish creates a lovely mouth-watering effect. Sourced from the Lawrence Vineyard on the Royal Slope, this 60% Roussanne, 40% Viognier combination offers a brilliant gold color and attractive aromas of pear, peach, apricot, Crenshaw melon, citrus, honeysuckle, jasmine, lemon verbena and white incense. The white fruit flavors are nicely delineated, with notes of grape skin, peach stone and minerals. The back picks up melon rind and lemon zest on the way to a crisp finish. 18+/20 points. – Rand Sealy’s Review Of Washington Wines
